Host Your First Padel Game in 5 Minutes
Format, players, courts — the fastest route from group chat to first serve. A step-by-step for running your first night on FOM Play.
FOM Play Team · · 5 min read You’ve got the court booked and eight people who said “gas”. Now someone has to actually run the night. Good news: with FOM, that someone barely has to do anything. Here’s the whole thing, start to finish.
1. Create the match
Open FOM Play and tap Start Match. Give the night a name — “Friday Night Americano” works fine. This is just so it shows up nicely later in history and your FOM Rewind.
2. Pick a format
FOM runs three:
- Americano — everyone plays with everyone. The friendliest option, great for mixed groups.
- Mexicano — winners face winners, so the games stay close.
- Match Play — fixed teams, head to head.
If it’s your first time, start with Americano. It just works.
3. Add your players
Type in names, or pull in friends you’ve added before. FOM only needs names — nobody else has to download the app or make an account to play or watch.
4. Set courts and points
Tell FOM how many courts you’ve got and how many points each round plays to. Two courts and 24 points per round is a solid default for eight people.
5. Generate and play
Tap Generate Match. FOM builds the whole schedule — who plays whom, on which court, every round. Score as you go by tapping the numbers. Standings update themselves the moment a match ends.
