Birthday Mode

The Birthday Star gets the spotlight. The score stays honest.

Pick one Birthday Star—playing, hosting, or simply there as a guest. FOM Play keeps the score and standings straight, then turns what really happened on court into a Birthday Roast and Rewind.

One session, three moments

Set the spotlight. Play the match. Keep the story.

Birthday Mode sits on top of the same match flow your group already knows. It adds a point of view, not another rulebook.
01

Choose the Birthday Star

Switch on Birthday Mode during setup. Pick a player, the host, or add the name of a guest who is not playing.

02

Play as usual

Pairings, score entry, official standings, and result eligibility stay on their normal path. The Birthday Roast follows what actually happens.

03

Finish with a Birthday Rewind

After finalization, turn the night into a birthday edition recap. The story adapts to whether the Birthday Star played or watched from the side.

The guest of honor

The Birthday Star does not have to be in the line-up.

The person celebrating can play, host the session, or come along as a guest. FOM gives them the right kind of spotlight without inventing stats.
01

Playing

Pick them from the roster. Their score and final position shape the birthday story.

02

Not playing

Choose the host or enter a guest name—no FOM account needed. They stay out of the schedule, standings, and MMR.

Birthday Roast on Savage

One Birthday Star per match. The host can update the selection before the match is finalized.

Celebration, with receipts

Make it festive. Keep the result honest.

Birthday Mode changes the presentation around the match. It does not sweeten the score or quietly rewrite who won.
01What changes
  • A Birthday Star spotlight during the session
  • Birthday-specific live copy with Savage roast
  • A Birthday Rewind built around the occasion
02What stays official
  • The selected format, pairings, and recorded scores
  • Regular standings and the usual result history
  • MMR rules for eligible registered players

No score yet? FOM keeps the recap celebration-only. It never fills the gap with made-up stats.

The ending worth sending

A Rewind that remembers more than the final score.

The deck brings the occasion and the match together. It stays personal when the evidence is there—and stays honest when it is not.

01 / Party Cover

The night gets a name.

The Birthday Star opens the story, whether they played or not.

02 / Star Story

The spotlight follows the facts.

A player gets a match-led journey. A non-player gets an event spotlight without fake sports stats.

03 / Party Awards

Awards still have to be earned.

Birthday labels appear only when the recorded result meets the award rules.

Before you make the plan

A few things worth knowing first.

Who can be the Birthday Star?

One player in the roster, the signed-in host without joining the line-up, or another guest whose name the host enters. A non-player Birthday Star does not appear in the schedule, standings, or MMR.

Does Birthday Mode change scores or MMR?

No. The selected format, score entry, official standings, and normal MMR eligibility rules stay the same. Birthday Mode changes the surrounding presentation and recap.

Can Birthday Roast be set to Mild?

No. Birthday Mode keeps the roast on Savage while it is active. The host must turn Birthday Mode off before choosing another Toxic setting, so get clear consent first.

What happens if there is not enough score data?

FOM keeps the experience celebration-only. It can still spotlight the Birthday Star, but it will not invent a rank, performance claim, or result-based roast.

What appears in Birthday Rewind?

It depends on the match. A player can get a result-led Birthday Star story; a non-player gets an event spotlight. Party awards and other result-led slides appear only when the recorded data supports them.

Your next birthday plan

The birthday lasts a day. The group chat material may last longer.

Set up the match, choose one Birthday Star, make sure everyone is in on the roast, and let the score write the rest.
